I realized the other day that it has been just over five years since I started mixing on jungletrain.net. Mike L, who now co-presents Peligra Sessions with me, got in contact about an exciting new DnB internet radio station that was looking for DJ's - I did a few trial shows and the rest is history. With over 200 shows Peligra Sessions is now one of jungletrain.net longest running and our involvement in a number of milestones like the first show with 100 and 200 listeners tuned is definitely something I'll always be very proud of. With the show only once a fortnight at present and my own involvement limited by current work commitments I wanted to make a mix that would be memorable and let listeners know I'm still around!
The mix covers the kind of sounds that are featured on the show, although with only 75 minutes to fill it was a challenge to get everything in I wanted. Hopefully listeners will enjoy the progression running throughout the mix, I've really tried to blend tracks together that naturally build up and up until the final ten minutes has the listener receiving complaints from the neighbours. There are a few Peligra Session classics in there, the tracks that got battered on the show for probably far too long, as well as some more recent output. Many thanks to josh-hill and Arnie whose dedication to Jungletrain and forgiving nature allows Peligra Sessions to celebrate its 5th birthday and to all the listeners over the years who have contributed, tuned-in and enjoyed the shows. |
