jungletrain.net is proud to present: Darkstar - jungletrain.net promomix summer 2021

Your personal breakbeat sherpa this summer is Darkstar, back with his fourth Jungletrain promomix installment. The trailhead for this journey is a deep halftime vibe that touches on some esoteric thinkin' music before launching headfirst into amen-laden jungle.

The subdued choppage provides a vibrant plateau of barely contained energy through the majority of the mix, painting a backdrop of a diverse tapestry that enshrouds the skyline that is our musical home. Concluding the the trek, our path winds down towards a cerebral multidimensional meditation guided by modern production techniques that fertilize the rhythmic soil for future generations to contemplate.

jungletrain.net welcomes Riffz to the family!
posted by darkstar

Polish jungle music producer and dj Riffz started making music in 2006. Not only showcasing a turbo blend of heavy chopped breaks, deep basslines mixed with ragga chants and haunting ambiences, the music from the mind of Riffz is also known to dip into juke and 4x4 rave vibes, expanding into every dimension of breakbeats from oldschool hardcore to modern jungle hybrid sounds.

Having released vinyl on War Drumz (Amenology), Slap The Wall (Meditator Music), and Sozialistischer Plattenbau (DUBCORE), and having played such events as Bangface (UK), Balter Festival (UK), Beats For Love (CZ) and Revolution Festival (LT), you can be certain to find a fresh flow of music and events in Riffz’ wake.

jungletrain.net is proud to present: Watcher - jungletrain.net promomix may 2021

When a DJ is on his sixth installment, writing a splashing introduction becomes a challenge. Then again, Watcher is past the need of needing one. Closing in on 10 years on the train, and much longer in the scene, his tight mixes, controlled pace and refined flows provide a focal point for any party line-up or night of radio programming. This time around, Watcher lets the mix do the talking. We hope you enjoy it!

Should this mix find you wanting more, Watcher can be heard on jungletrain.net every other Thursday night from 21.00 - 22.30 CEST, 20.00 - 21.30 BST, 15.00 - 16.30 EDT, 12.00 - 13.30 PDT!

jungletrain.net welcomes Ken Hangover to the family!

Ken Hangover :: Odd Fridays @ 12:00 - 14:00 CEST (Odd Fridays 21:00 - 23:00 JST)

Ken Hangover first heard the rhythmic sounds of drum and bass in '97 while attending a session at the liquid room, and within a few years he moved to the USA, finding himself transfixed by the Atlanta dnb scene.

Joining various 'Transit' parties while staying in the 'ATL,' he found himself influenced by it's unique mayhem, and ultimately brought it back home with him - through the vibrant and emerging sounds of dnb - when he returned to Tokyo in '07. You could say, Ken formed a "Hangover" after returning home, which later grew into the Tokyo-based drum and bass collective, consisting of Ken, Shige, Satoshi.

dj cybergroove :: Even Fridays @ 20:00 - 22:00 CEST (Even Fridays 19:00 - 21:00 BST)

Cybergroove started his digital journey into the sounds of electronic music in the 1980's after his first viewing of the movie, Break dance.

Having little access to electronic music from a young age, he would watch Break dance repeatedly, just to jam out to the tracks on the soundtrack.

As he grew older, his search for EDM led him through theearly sounds of the electronic music scene; Acid House, Hardcore, and Jungle, they all laid down a groove he could get into.

After attending Pandemonium @ Mr B's in Willenhall, UK - he took the dive and purchased his first set of decks. Djing in the midlands, he's played alongside... more

jungletrain.net is proud to present: Y2 - jungletrain.net promomix april 2021

Once again, the venerable Danger Chamber overlord Y2 descends from his dark fortress to grace us with a selection for the monthly jungletrain.net promomix series. In this installment, Y2 showcases the latest and greatest from the respectable Danger Chamber Catalog, including two tracks from the forthcoming Danger Changer Records vinyl imprint!

We suggest you sit down to enjoy the amazing intro by Abstract Drumz, because before you realize Y2 will descend into his signature amen science madness, interspersed with the obligatory breaks and breathers, not letting up until the last 15 minutes, where it's only just smooth sailing before the last beats fade away.

jungletrain.net welcomes Orton to the family!

Orton :: Listen In :: Even Sundays @ 12/noon GMT

Journeys often begin in and lead to places we don’t expect. Orton’s journey begins with following the punk and psychedelic rock of John Peel’s late night show on Radio1, followed by a stint in progressive trance along the lines of Bonzai and Hope Recordings. After recognizing the paved path to djing, Orton acquired decks and a mixer and proceeded to rage through loads of parties in his early teen years. Around the turn of the century, DJ Zinc’s “Beats by Design EP” caught Orton’s ear and refused to let go. At some point the parties trailed off into the sunset while life demanded his energy. But the attention to the vibe and interest in the sound... more
